A Rich History
The Station House Hotel is built on the grounds of where the Old Station House once stood when the Railway system in Co. Donegal was in operation from 1901 to the 1940's. It was bought by the Gallagher family in 1953 four years after the last train passed the old building.

We stay here regularly the best hotel in letterkenny. The staff in the reception restaurant and bar are absolutely fantastic. The rooms are fabulous spotless and beds so comfy. There is not one thing I could fault about this hotel, will always be my place to stay when we visit letterkenny.
The location of The Station House Hotel is perfect, right in the heart of the town. I walked there from the bus station. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful, from reception to bar/restaurant to cleaning staff. My room was beautiful, and so comfortable that I miss it. There is an ample work desk with an proper office chair, which I gladly used to do some work on my laptop. It was also deeply clean, both the room and the bathroom. The pillows had clean pillow protectors under the pillowcases. The bed was very comfortable, and faced a large TV with a good choice of channels. The menu and the food is excellent, with good choices. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. I felt as if everything I needed had been thought of in advance. I also had a stunning view over to distant mountains. For January, we had great weather, so I got some lovely sunsets. I highly recommend The Station House Hotel, it is top class.
This has to be the hotel with the most friendly staff in the country. The hotel was really clean and functional . Really good for a two or three night stay, bar food was excellent also the staff service at breakfast was great. would book a short break there again.
